What I Did as a Kid
"After more than 5 decades with my camera, I think it’s about time I try to put more of the large variety
of work I’ve done out there and see what happens. I had no idea when I was 13 years old and already
had been playing with cameras for 4 or 5 years, that I would have the oportunity to gain an experience
that would influence my life more than almost anything else and in a way that would help keep me
whole, when it seemed that all was falling apart. Seeing a small sign on the wall next to my High
School Newspaper, “The Newtown Observer” that said “photo editor wanted”, I walked in, talked to
Mr. Becker and got the job. 3-1/2 years later, not realizing it, I had gained more professional expeience
than you could get in the 1950s any other way. There was little or no schooling to train photographers
for a career. Not having an ambitious bone in my body at the time, I never did anything to seek a
career in photography until many years later. No complaints though, My Music career gave me amazing
experience and magical times. My construction career helped show me my depth of skills and that my
creativity had applications I never dreamed of. So today, I want to show you what I did as a kid, and,
if you like it, maybe I will show you more. For now, Thank you for supporting my efforts."
