We suffer 2 kinds of death, they say. The first is the death of the body, the second is the death of memory. “The Crowd” is for my late son, who so few knew and was isolated by his mental illness. This book is to keep his memory alive. I came across him in the film I was scanning, in front of Mick Jagger at this 1981 Rolling Stones Concert. His happiness grabbed me. It was an unforgettable moment refreshing my memory of my boy with a charismatic personality and great energy before his illness. The book is about my art. But it’s more about him, seeing his greatest Rock’n’Roll band to be raised up on the beating wings of the Rolling Stones. It was worth the wait.

I hope enough people read the book and remember him.
